My presentation will focus on the revolutionary implications of thinking of our bodies not in individual
terms but as a collective reality, and thereby a common/meeting ground for some of the most important struggles today on the planet.
This is to think the relation between the body-as-work, the body as procreation, the body as sexuality, as health-care, the body as subjectivization and identity. The argument is that while capitalism has distorted body/politics into
an instrument of hierarchies and divisions, our task is demonstrating that reclaiming our bodies requires a broad process of social change, « decapitalizing » our relationship to nature, to other people and to the material conditions of our lives. Silvia Federici est une universitaire, enseignante et militante, qui s’inscrit dans la tradition du féminisme marxiste autonome. Elle est professeur émérite de l’Université Hofstra, à Long Island dans l’état de New York, où elle enseigne les sciences sociales.

Elle a enseigné précédemment au Nigéria pendant plusieurs années. Elle est aussi cofondatrice du Committee for Academic Freedom in Africa (CAFA), et elle est membre du collectif Midnight Notes.
